Bitterblue

One of my birthday purchases was the "I didn't even know it was coming out" sequel to Graceling and Fire by Kristen Cashore. I was so excited cause I really enjoyed those books. I read bitterblue this weekend and enjoyed it. It was slow to start, but then I got into it and spent the whole day reading today. It says that you don't have to have read Fire or Graceling to enjoy the book, but I would like to reread them both and then Bitterblue again and I think I will enjoy it even more.

I now have City of Lost Souls of which I am going to reread city of fallen angels first so that I enjoy it even more. Then I have divergent and insurgent to read.

Too much to read, too little time.

Netflix distracted me from reading

So I really got into watching a few tv series on Netflix. I watched the entire 6 seasons on 90210 (the original) and the I watched 5 seasons of Heartland. Really enjoyed heartland and can't wait for September when season 6 starts and I find out what Amy and Ty do. Lol.
But all this netflix watching caused a significant break in my reading. However...the $100 chapters gift card I got for my birthday has prompted a jump back into reading.... I bought several books off my wish list to own.

Matched by Ally Condie

So, it was slow to start and a little annoying how the society was so controlled, but then again I guess that was the point. I enjoyed it and stayed up last night till I was done it, now I am ready for the next book Crossed, but its only in hardcover. I must resist. The third book comes out in the fall I think.
It was interesting to think about a society that is so controlled, giving you no choice at all. I think the author is LDS cause I checked out her site and it seems so. Anyway... gotta read the next book, I suppose I can wait till the fall when the third one is out and then re-read Matched and have book 2 and 3 waiting for me.

Divergent by Veronica Roth

So a 15 year old girl first recommended this book to me about a year ago. Finally read it. I couldn't put it down, I even chose reading it over going for a run. I really enjoyed it. I don't much like the main character, but I see that she is developing and I like where she is going in it. Apparently book 2 comes out in the spring.
I liked the concept of the 5 factions and how excelling in only one causes problems of its own and how being divergent - having qualities from each faction actualy makes for a better person.

HUNGER GAMES

reread the entire series in a matter of a few days. Love these books, even enjoyed the 3rd book more the second time around. First time around I didn't really like the ending; kinda left Gale out of the ending. anyway... can't wait for the movie on March 23. I am soooooo hoping that it is better than the twilight movies. So far the cast looks like they can actually act.
